Aaron Bokenfohr – President and General Manager
Leading our management team is Aaron Bokenfohr, the President of Hi-Tower, who has an impressive background deeply rooted in the dirt business. Coming from a family that has operated borrow pits for nearly half a century, Aaron had a choice between continuing the family business or venturing into the oil field industry.
Embarking on an exciting career in the oil field sector, Aaron spent 24 years dedicated to the industry, working on global projects. His work took him to various countries, including the Middle East, China, Australia, the United States, and North Africa. Throughout his career, he held prominent positions with renowned companies such as BP, Shell, Total, Ensign Energy Services, and WDI, serving as Operations Manager, Superintendent, Engineering Manager, and more.
While his path initially led him to the oil field, Aaron’s journey took an unexpected turn towards reclamation work. With a strong background in the dirt business and his wife, Chantelle, holding a degree in environmental sciences, the couple decided to channel their expertise into reclamation projects. Equipped with the necessary equipment, they began reclamation work in southern Saskatchewan and central Alberta, primarily collaborating with Husky and other small operators.
Aaron’s career took a significant leap when he was offered the role of Engineering Manager for Carmon Creek, a joint venture between Shell and CNCP in China. Tasked with overseeing all drilling operations for the $3 billion project, he relocated to China for six months. Following his time with Shell, Aaron continued his professional journey with BP in the Middle East until 2017, when he made a conscious decision to prioritize spending more time with his children.
Taking a temporary break from extensive travel, Aaron utilized his previously purchased equipment to undertake small reclamation and seeding jobs. A pivotal moment came when he saw the Northeast Anthony Henday project in progress, sparking the idea of seizing an opportunity to seed the ditches of that project. What was initially anticipated as a short-term project turned into three years of steady work for Hi-Tower.
Driven by its success, Hi-Tower expanded its capabilities by investing in additional equipment, enabling them to take on diverse projects such as drainage and erosion control, as well as refurbishing work on soil surrounding bridges. New opportunities emerged, including a partnership with Carmacks on Edmonton’s northwest, reconnecting Aaron with his dirt roots through civil construction and reclamation projects. This marked the beginning of a further upward trajectory for Hi-Tower.
With millions of dollars worth of equipment and a team of up to 20 employees, Hi-Tower has become an industry leader in dirt work. The company now conducts millions of dollars worth of business annually with clients valued in the billions. Aaron attributes Hi-Tower’s success to his commitment to assembling a talented team and treating them respectfully and fairly.

With her extensive knowledge and expertise, she plays a pivotal role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the company, as well as managing its financial aspects.
